The actual five-page order (Document 65) was read. An older ACLU page still says ongoing, last updated May 27. A current appellate docket has not been verified; do not describe this as finally over.
Next: Check for notice of appeal, appellate docket, or post-judgment motion. No future date verified.
A February 2021 Tennessee Tribune report describes a December 15, 2020 state-court filing led by Carnita Atwater that included Indigenous and African American residents. It is an older lead, not a verified active 2026 case. Exact state docket, present status and whether this is the user’s intended case remain unresolved. Do not conflate it with the separately indexed 2019 federal Atwater v. Strickland case.
A complaint states allegations. A motion asks the court to act. An order records what the court decided. A dismissal may be appealed, and related proceedings can have different statuses. No absence of search results is treated as proof that a docket has not changed.
